Just like most competitive kids in sports growing up, I aspired to become an Olympian. For me it just made sense...even as a kid in kindergarten. Because kids have a great idea of what makes them happy. Things were going great. Then the news I received during my physical for 8th grade athletics hit me hard when the doctor said I had Scoliosis, I thought my athletic dream was over before I truly got started. But, with faith comes resilience, and in that I learned to adapt.
I am originally from Arlington, Texas and then attended Louisiana State University-Shreveport where I played collegiate basketball and earned my Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.
After college I took up weightlifting while working full-time on my career as an engineer. I represented USA weightlifting at several international competitions finishing as high as 5th then 7th in the second largest multi-sport event in the world under the Olympics.
I was recruited into bobsledding in 2018 after participating in the reality show "Scouting Camp: The Next Olympic Hopeful" - which I didn't know at the time was a television show, not just a training camp. I did her best, but didn't win, but the bobsleigh coaches liked me anyway and invited me to the Rookie Push Championships in Lake Placid. I won the rookie event and went onto win the national push championships. I secured a spot on the women’s national team and spent the 2018-19 season on the world cup tour, where I was able to compete alongside three-time Olympic medalist Elana Meyers Taylor, even earning bronze with her at the world cup stop in Innsbruck, Austria. I became the fastest Brakewoman for USA Bobsled in a matter of two years, and an Olympic medalist in four (2022 bronze medalist in 2 woman bobsled) and I know there's more to come!
