Let's discuss how to land a career as an astronaut! I'm happy to share what I've learned since beginning to pursue my own dream of space travel, which began when I saw the first class of female astronauts selected for the space shuttle program in 1978. I grew up in Minnesota with a love for art, which remains a passion of mine, today. We can use this time to talk about your passions and how to continue to pursue them.

I love to share my experiences about the human side of being an astronaut. Let's use this time to talk about the stories you're most interested in. I'm an open book, from training, to living on the ISS, to experiencing the overview effect, to readjusting to life on Earth!

This session is intended for groups of 3-10 students who want to get together for a collective discussion about a career in space exploration or any other future possibilities. This should be a fun, inspiring chat personalized to the group, from a Girl Scout Troop to a robotics club!

I love to talk with fellow quilters about my time spent in space and how it continues to influence my fabric and quilting designs. In this session, I discuss the unique challenges of sewing in space, NASA's Astronomical quilt challenge, my textile artworks and quilt patterns, as well as the design process I used for creating my Robert Kaufman "Earth View" fabrics." Perfect for small quilting quilds and groups.
